Ideal for… Understated luxury at it’s best – especially if you love spacious hotels.
What: Five star hotel – Corinthia Hotel, London by the Corinthia Hotel group – a beautiful hotel all in all.
Where: Whitehall place in Charing Cross, London. Very close to Covent Garden and Trafalgar Square.
The Rooms: Modern classic & opulent. Spacious, with wooden floors filled with Chandeliers, modern art and beautiful Flowers. I stayed at the Trafalgar Suite there.
The Bed: A large bed that makes you sink in… a good hotel bed.
The Toilets: The suite had two toilets – a larger full fledged bathroom with a bath and shower, and a smaller toilet by the door. Their toiletries are by ESPA (a spa brand with essential oils, in generous sized bottles.) They had a TV screen within the bathtub with a waterproof remote control for a relaxing night in with their bathsoaks and a loofah as part of the toiletries. One major was the heated floors in the bathroom – no frozen feet after the shower or if walking barefoot.
The Breakfast: Breakfast took place in their Northall restaurant. The entry is through the florist shop, which really brightens your day – They have a buffet as well as a la carte. The buffet included pancakes, waffles, cereals, eggs, mini cakes, pastries, fruits and even a Berries section – as well as home to one of the best raisin rolls!
The Food (restaurants & bars):
They have two restaurants – Massimo (Mediterranean seafood) and Northall (British), and a bar – Bassoon.
Starbucks Frappucino bottles, coconut water to the traditional drinks for beverages. In terms of snacks, they have chocolate bars from the Grown Up chocolate company, Cliff bars, Jealous gluten free candy, Harrods nut jars and Tyrrell’s popcorn and chips.
Pool, Spa & Gym:
They have a pool, spa and gym. I made sure to book in for a spa treatment at the hotel, which are all ESPA treatments. One of the highlights of the hotel – The ESPA Life spa has four floors, spacious and also have their own lift. Within the space, they have a thermal floor, sleeping pods, and a nail studio. I was booked in for a customised massage, which focused on what my concerns, focuses were as well as my preferred oil. If you’re in London, or staying at the hotel – this is one not worth missing out and also make sure to ask for Diane – fab therapist.
Price: Starts at £1,250
